There too are the INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES, who have not converted to Muslim when Islam first reached Mindanao. I believe they are the ORIGINAL OWNERS. This is not about RELIGION. this is about CULTURE without the RELIGION (though Islam itself is culture) because there simply is civilization in Mindanao way before Islam arrived in the island. i believe though Muslim communities are part rightful owners because they have so defended the island from colonizers. And I hope Muslim communities should not monopolize on this take. Our national government is undeniably wicked! This is not arguable. Are we still going to trust this historical evil empire? I do not know because they have not been entirely evil. Our communities also have its own evils and discords. Much like the Christians (Protestants vs. Roman Catholics), Muslims also have factions inside (Shiites vs. Sunnis). And as much as Americans (west coast vs east coast) are in tensions, so as our indigenous communities (Manobo vs. Bagobo). Conflict is part of life and peace is never an absence of conflict, but an absence of solutions.
