Aside from providing haven for sports enthusiasts, the festival strengthens more the rapport between officials and employees of the autonomous region.”

In his State of the Region Address (SORA), Governor Zaldy commends the sports office for successfully sending a participant to the 2007 Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia on May 2007. The sports office also donated various sports equipment to different schools around the region.
Meanwhile, Director Ostique shares plans to further sustain sports activities in the autonomous region. He envisioned a sports clinic that would be an effective venue for neophytes in learning badminton, bowling and other sports.
“We are confident that we can establish a sports clinic soon. This is very helpful not only in maintaining healthy fit but in achieving peace and social progress for the entire autonomous region. We hope that our provincial leaders would also launch sports festivals in their localities,” Director Ostique concluded. (bpi-arm)
